At the end of 2018, we shared 14 of the most anticipated developments that Charleston can expect to see this year.

We’re only two months into 2019, and already we have seen some of these major developments come to fruitionsuch as the opening of Hotel Bennett.

From the plethora of restaurants that have popped up around the Lowcountry– which can make sticking to those new year’s resolutions a little tricky– to the multiple fitness clubswhich can get you back on track– we want to make sure you’re in the loop of all that is new in the CHS.

Downtown

Serving breakfast, lunch, drinks, + coffee. Additionally, peruse merchandise including Taschen books, art, Kusmi tea, coffee, + more.

🌮 RuRu’s Tacos + Tequila | 159 East Bay St.
Touted as the “Hot Place for Swanky Tacos,” nosh on the traditional tacos, queso, + fajitas– plus adventure out with Jasmine rice bowls.

🛎️ Hotel Bennett | 404 King St.
An eight-story luxury hotel overlooking Marion Square– featuring a spa, rooftop eatery, + a French Patisserie. Make sure to stop by the so-called ‘ladies’ bar’ named Camellias.

🌺 Maui Tacos | 200 Meeting St., Ste. 2
A Maui-Mex restaurant with tacos, burritos, salads, desserts, vegetarian options, + more.

👕 UNTUCKit | 290 King St.
The national apparel chain’s first store in South Carolina. Featuring apparel for men, women, + boys.

🍹 Dalila’s | 21 Spring St.
A cocktail bar featuring Caribbean-inspired drinks, along with a petite food menu.

🥘 Malagón | 33 Spring St.
A Spanish-style taperia + market. The menu features classic Spanish dishes, while Spanish ingredients– like olive oil, ham, + cheese– are sold in the market. 🥘

Seafood restaurants serving up dishes including Lobster & Grits, Monk Fish, Mussels du jour + more.

A new 106,000 sq. ft. store.

Johns Island

A seafood + steak tavern featuring a woodfire grill.

West Ashley

💪 O2 Fitness | 1119 Wappoo Rd., Ste. L
A 30,000 sq. ft. fitness center featuring group fitness classes, a designated area for stretching + core training, a functional training turf, + an outdoor training area.

🖨 Reforge Charleston | 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Ste. 424
The communal workshop in Citadel Mall features tools ranging from a 3D printing area + a sheet metal press to a laser cutting machine + woodshop. Monthly memberships ($50/month) are available for the space, with classes that are open to the public.

🚗 Porsche Charleston | 1515 Savannah Hwy.
A new 20,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility by Baker Motor Company. The dealership is ten times larger than the company’s previous Porsche dealership and carries 30% more inventory.
