The manufacturing industry in SC

The manufacturing industry is booming in SC. The industry has a powerful economic impact of approximately $206 billion every year in the state according to the Darla Moore School of Business at UofSC, SC Future Makers + SC Manufacturers Alliance.

SC Future Makers reported 30% of jobs in the state are tied to manufacturing + the industry pays 33% higher annual wages than the state average. Manufacturing also accounts for 38% of SC’s General Fund. The numbers speak for themselves. 

The industry is experiencing considerable growth in the Charleston area as well. M.C. Dean, Inc.a manufacturing company based in Virginia is expanding operations in Charleston County with a $7.3 million investment. The expansion project will be completed by spring 2022 and will help create 126 new jobs.
