Tatum here. There’s nothing quite like a fall weekend in Charleston, and this one is jam-packed with fun things to do. From hockey games to dog costume contests, there’s something from everyone.

Firefly Distillery’s Fall Food Truck Festival has been rescheduled for this Sunday, and I can’t wait to try the New England lobster roll from And Lobster and pork belly tacos from Dashi. Get details on this free-to-attend festival below.

Fall foliage in Syracuse, NY
City Editor Lexa loved walking around town + admiring the leaves changing. | Photo by @lexagarian
City Editor Lexa here. Many of you know I grew up in Charleston, but you might not know that I was born in Syracuse, New York. While I absolutely love everything that Charleston offers, there was just something special about fall in Syracuse. The crisp, cool air, the leaves changing, the fall traditions — I really felt the seasons changing + the significance of new beginnings.

Why go?

  • Visit Green Lakes State Park featuring two glacial lakes + 10 miles of trails. It’s a great way to get some fresh air, speaking from experience.
  • Feeling Italian food? Make a reservation at Pastabilitiesyou won’t be disappointed. Want a taste of the Lowcountry? Grab a pulled pork platter from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. Pro tip: You’ve got to stop by Stella’s Diner at least once for breakfast.
  • Vrbo: Stone House, located right on Oneida Lake (~$192/night).*
