Skate into the holidays at Credit One Stadium’s “Skate the Stadium” event series

We don’t want to be dramatic, Charleston, but there’s only one right way to celebrate the holiday season: with ice skating, hot cocoa + all things merry and bright at Credit One Stadium’s Skate the Stadium event series.
Happening Thursdays-Sundays starting Friday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 30 (Thursdays and Fridays, 5-10 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sundays, 12-5 p.m.; closed Christmas Day and Friday, Dec. 30), the custom-built rink has something for everyone.
Here are six things to look forward to:
🕺 Themed skate nights
Ladies Night + Bubbles on Ice (Thursday, Dec. 8, 7-10 p.m.)
90s Glow Night (Saturday, Dec. 10)
Jazz Night & Bourbon Tasting (Thursday, Dec. 15, 7-10 p.m.)
🎄 Tree lighting ceremony + celebration
Daniel Island Tree Lighting Ceremony festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, with the 22-ft tree lighting at 6 p.m. There will also be live music from Charleston Concert Band, caroling + other family-friendly activities off the rink.
🎅 Visit with Santa
The last weekend before the big day, stop by for a visit with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
🎤 Holiday carolers
Catch the holiday spirit with vocal performances from local high school choral groups on the following Thursdays: Dec. 8, Dec. 15, and Dec. 22, 5:30-6 p.m.
🍪 Festive food + bevs
Skaters can enjoy cookie samples, s’mores kits + cinnamon sugar pretzels, warm up with hot drinks (think: cocoa and cider), and order from a full bar stocked with seasonal beer and cocktails.
🎁 Marine Toys for Tots Foundation donation box
Give back for the holidays (and get $2 off concessions) by helping kids in needwith a toy donation to Marine Toys for Tots.
Ready to glide? Tickets are $10 per person (includes skate rental and an hour-long skating session; ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult) and can be purchased in-person at the rink or online. Non skaters get in for free.

The City of Goose Creek was expected to finalize its plans for a new apartment complex during a Board of Architectural Review meeting last night. The development coming to Henry Brown Boulevard will feature 10 three-story buildings, a dog park, and a pedestrian walkway. (WCIV)

An opening ceremony was held yesterday for the Town of Moncks Corner’s new $1.5 million baseball field for people with disabilities. Miracle League Field, which provides accessible recreation, is located at 418 E. Main St. The season begins next spring. ⚾ (WCSC)

Coming to North Charleston
New development coming to North Charleston

The Beach Company + ParkProperty Capital recently announced the groundbreaking of The Assembly, a new 210-unit multifamily community in North Charleston.
The development is part of the GARCO Park redevelopment in Park Circle and is located near I-26 and the I-526 Corridor.
The Assembly will offer a mix of apartment floor plans and amenities including a pool, fitness center, yoga room, pet spa, co-working lounge, and game room.
The community is set to be completed in late 2024 + preleasing will become available in the summer of 2024.
