Take a look at Folly Beach Pier after reconstruction

There’s been a lot of change at Folly Beach Pier, so we’re keeping you in the loop. Charleston County Parks has reopened the pier following parking lot renovations. This was the final stage of the two-year reconstruction project.

The new structure will be open from 8 a.m. to sunset and features a diamond-shaped platform, fishing stations, a gift and tackle shop, restrooms and showers, benches and shade structures, and Pier 101 Restaurant & Bar.

Now let’s pier into the future. Check out these upcoming events at the new Folly Beach Pier. Heads up: These dates are subject to change.
  • Dedication ceremony: Celebrate the new pier on March 1.
  • Folly Pier Fest: Grab tickets for this fundraiser featuring music, entertainment, and food on March 11.
  • Moonlight Mixer: Dance the night away on May 5, June 16, and July 7.
  • Cast Off Fishing Tournament: Enter this fishing competition slated for May 27, June 24, August 26, and September 23.
Good news: The pier is expected to remain open now that renovations are complete and the new structure has a longer lifespan of 65+ years. See you in Folly Beach. 👋

  • Red Lobster has closed its doors in West Ashley after almost 40 years of serving the Lowcountry. The restaurant chain has another location in North Charleston. (The Post and Courier)
Development
  • The Ice House redevelopment project, which involves redeveloping an old ice distribution property in North Charleston, is gaining a third office building. The $7 million structure on Spruill Avenue is slated to be finished in September. (The Post and Courier)
