The award-winning Charleston Grill at The Charleston Place officially reopened its doors in early February with reimagined interiors, a newly-appointed Chef de Cuisine, and an exciting new menu.
The iconic Charleston restaurant was closed briefly for interior refurbishments led by designers Gregory Blake Sams and Athalie Derse, and now boasts a new color palette (think: rich yellows and ochres), updated decor (think: layered velvet, leathers, and large-scale art installations), and a refreshed layout.
The restaurant is also under new leadership, with longtime executive chef Michelle Weaver transitioning into a new role as Culinary Ambassador for The Charleston Place. Sous chef Suzy Castelloe, who has worked alongside Chef Michelle for seven years, has been promoted to Chef de Cuisine. She’s crafted an imaginative new menu, which showcases elevated Lowcountry cuisine with dishes like Imperial Osetra Caviar with crème fraiche, local coast oysters with merlot mignonette and shallot, and braised pork shank ragout with ricotta cavatelli. Hungry yet? Us too.
The dining room at Charleston Grill is open Wednesday-Sunday from 5:30-9:30 p.m., with the lounge opening at 5 p.m. Did you know? The Grill features live jazz Wednesday-Saturday from 5:30-10 p.m. and Sunday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Date night: planned. *
