Summer Light: Art by Night — a summer-long art exhibit at Brookgreen Gardens —begins next week. Stroll under twinkling lightsin the gardens after dark + experience art in a bright new way. The exhibit will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Wed., May 11–Sat., Aug. 13.
The exhibit includes nine lighting installations throughout the sculpture garden, featuring 800 upcycled chandeliers and 900 wine bottle alcoves. Check out the Oak Allee and Beyond the Garden Wall, Conway Glass display, and “blooming flora” in the Children’s Garden.
Live music will be performed each evening by various bands throughout the summer, with artists like City Lights, Greg Rowles, and Paul Grimshaw Band. There will be two food trucksto dig into every night, including options like Kona Ice shaved ice truck, Surf Dogs beachside grill, and EZ Cheezy grilled cheese truck. Plug 1931 Brookgreen Garden Dr. into your GPS + take a mini day trip to see these scenic gardens light up Murrells Inlet. The gates open at 6 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. each evening.
