This nautical work of art is part of a larger mural depicted on the outside of Bodega and Share House downtown, two restaurants from Uptown Hospitality Group that opened on Ann Street last year.

This mural honors Black women Civil Rights leaders in Charleston including Mary Jackson, Anna DeCosta Banks, Alice Childress, Lucille Simmons Whipper, Septima Poinsette Clark, and Bernice Robinson.

Charleston Habitat ReStore mural, 731 Meeting St. | By John Reese, with assistance from Anna Chen
This artwork depicting iconic local spots like the Ravenel Bridge and Rainbow Row is painted on the side of Charleston Habitat for Humanity‘s downtown thrift store.
