Something we love about Charleston is the ever-growing food scene. We feel like we’ll never catch up with all the eateries popping up around town, and that’s a great problem to have.

If you’re at a fork in the road and need a recommendation, use this roundup of new bars, restaurants, and eateries to try in the Holy City as a checklist.

  • BarPizza , 656G Long Point Rd., Mount Pleasant | This family-friendly pizza joint opened in Belle Hall Shopping Center in May 2023, replacing Kiki & Rye.
  • Cinnaholic , 415 King St. | Order build-your-own cinnamon rolls, cookies, and edible cookie dough at this vegan bakery that arrived in April 2023.
  • Lobby Bar , 194 E. Bay St. | This bar at The Palmetto hotel, which opened in March 2023, offers a custom craft cocktail menu and Southern-inspired bites.
  • Southbound , 72 Cannon St. | This restaurant, which opened downtown in February 2023, features live-fire cooking and local ingredients.
  • Sorelle , 88 Broad St. | Head to Broad Street for an Italian restaurant, mercato, pizza counter, wine room, and bar rolled into one that opened in February 2023.
  • Hugh Baby’s BBQ & Burger Shop , 1028 St. Andrews Blvd. | Dig into barbecue and milkshakes at this Nashville-based spot that opened in January 2023.

Grab family and friends and hit the latest spots around town. This list is only a handful of new restaurants, so if there’s another one we should cover next, let us know .
