Here’s the latest on the former Gnome Cafe.

After officially closing its doors at the corner of President and Cannon streets last September , the former Gnome cafe is getting a new tenant.

A new restaurant from chef Michael Toscano of Le Farfalle is in the works, set to offer breakfast bites like smoked salmon, lunch items featuring local meats, and above all — a menu highlighting focaccia sandwiches .

The upcoming da Toscano Porchetta Shop may be familiar to some, as it once operated as a pop-up at Le Farfalle’s restaurant on Beaufain Street.

We’ll keep y’all posted on an opening date. For now, expect a selection of focaccia sandwiches, salads, rotisserie meats, plus beer and wine at 109 President St. this spring.
