There’s no debating that we love Lowes Foods. Drinking a beer while grocery shopping is pretty much our favorite after-work activity. But we also love that we’re supporting local farms + purveyors when we shop, too.

Lowes Foods’ “Shop Carolina” initiative makes an extra-special effort to feature farms + small brands from the Lowcountry and S.C. in Lowes Foods stores, which puts money back into the local + state economy.

Here are a few local products you can find on their shelves:

Charleston Tea Plantation // the only tea plantation in North America

🐷 Bessinger’s Barbecue Sauce // described as “terrifically balancing the tangs of mustard and vinegar with a wood fire’s charry flavor” by the New York Times

🍋 Cannonborough Soda // fresh fruit soda made by three local ‘jerks’

🍑 Food For The Southern Soul // their Peach Slow Burn Hot Sauce is a favorite amongst celebs including Lin-Manuel Miranda + Stephen Colbert

🦀 82 Queen // grab Charleston’s most romantic restaurant’s she crab soup mix

🍕 Porzio // a pizzeria that started in Savannah, GA, now serves up their locally-sourced, preservative + gluten-free pizza sauces here in the Lowcountry

🍞 Callie’s // Charleston’s very own biscuit love story

🍻 Holy City Brewing , Westbrook Brewing , + Palmetto Brewing // just a few of Chucktown’s craft brews that you can find in store, + occasionally on tap, in the beer den
