Celebrate Greek culture this weekend during the 52nd Annual Charleston Greek Festival. The event will take place Friday, May 12 to Sunday, May 14 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity at 30 Race St. near Hampton Park.

Dating back to 1970, the Charleston Greek Festival is said to be the oldest festival in the Charleston area and hosts more than 35,000 guests over the course of three days. Look forward to live music, wine tastings, dance performances, vendors, and cultural experiences. Check out the full schedule.

Bring your appetite for authentic Greek food + drinks. The festival will offer up everything from pastries to gyros plus Greek coffee, beer, and wine. Browse the menu for dishes like spanakopita, moussaka, and baklava before you go. We recommend getting one of each... and then going back for seconds.

The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity opened in 1953, replacing South Carolina’s first Greek Orthodox Church, which was built in 1911. The church was inspired by Byzantine-style architecture and designed by Harold Tatum. Church tours will run throughout the festival.

General admission is $5, older adults and students pay $3,
children up to age 12 attend for free, and active duty military attend for free. Bonus: This family-friendly festival donates 10% of all profits to charity. Sign up to volunteer.

There will be free parking + a shuttle service at the Harborview Office Tower at 19 Hagood Ave. Shuttles will run every 10 minutes to and from the festival. Heads up: Limited handicap parking is available at the church.
