Ready to dance the weekend away?
The Charleston Carifest will host events starting Thursday, June 29 through Saturday, July 1 to celebrate Caribbean culture in the Lowcountry.
The three-day celebration will consist of various events with keynote speakers, Caribbean food, Soca and Reggae music, and costumes with education and culture.
The nonprofit organization behind the celebration is the South Carolina Caribbean Culture and Heritage Inc. Established in 2006, its mission is to unearth, study, preserve, and promote the cultural heritage of the Caribbean. Each year, they showcase a different Caribbean country at the culture festival. This year will highlight the Bahamas.

Yesterday, Charleston County and North Charleston Government broke ground on the Palmetto Commerce Interchange. The massive project will will begin this summer with a tentative completion date expected for the end of 2025. (WCBD)

American Jukebox 2 debuts soon

After great feedback from last summer’s American Jukebox, Moranz Entertainment decided to do an entirely new show. America Jukebox 2 will feature over two dozen sing-along hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s from 20 of the country’s most talented performers.
There will be a 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. show on Saturday, July 8, and a 3 p.m. show on Sunday, July 9.
