Get a first look at Stars Rooftop & Grill Room’s new Satellite Bar

Same views, new look, and new name.Stars Rooftop & Grill Room is revamping its rooftop terrace. The recent changes also include a new drink menu and live music schedule. The rooftop hangout at 495 King St. is now known as Satellite Bar.
A first peak at the renderings for Satellite Bar shows an elevated experience for bar-goers — including bench seating under awnings.
Patrons can also look forward to a new drink menu featuring unique and colorful cocktails (like the Pressure Drop — think: lavender vodka and blueberry lemonade) in addition to local draft beers. Cool down frozen drinks like the Rhinestone Cowboy (a mix of Fernet-Branca, pineapple + coconut).
Cutting down on cocktails? Satellite Bar will also have zero-proof options. We’re eyeing the Midnight Train to Georgia, made with passionfruit, ginger beer, and bitters.
We love a pastel pop of color — and check out that outdoor bar.

Want some tunes with your panoramic views? The local staple is also expanding its entertainment. Live music will now be featured on Fridays and Sundays in addition to the regular performances on Saturdays between 2-6 p.m. Warm up your own vocal cords — there are also plans in the works for open mic night on Thursdays.
The changes are aimed to provide an upscale experience for a more mature crowd. This means a new age policy — on Friday and Saturday nights after 9 p.m., the Satellite Bar will be 23 and up.
The new Satellite Bar is set to be completed by the end of the month. Follow along on Instagram for updates.

We were so excited about the new location of Coconut Joe’s Beach Grill opening, we put the wrong street. Its correct address is 11 Center St., Folly Beach.
Pro tip for the pooch-owners headed to the pool this September for Dog Day Afternoon — walk your dogs before the event. Peeing in the pool is for kids, not canines.
