All work and no play? That’s not the case. There are many benefits to getting away from your work setting and enjoying team-building activities, including improving communications, identifying leaders, and inspiring collaboration.

We heard from a curious reader interested in team-building activities for companies + businesses in Charleston, and after some digging, we found seven that fit the bill.

Charleston Outdoor Adventure, 1871 Bowens Island Rd., Charleston

This company offers nature-based boat tours, kayaking adventures, fossil hunting, and rentals — all fun activities that could be done with your team.

Escape in 60, 45 S. Market St., Charleston

Test your team-building experience with four escape rooms that offer different stories and puzzles. Oh, and you’ve got 60 minutes to escape.

The Challenge Course at James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Dr., Charleston

Grow your team with this course that offers a variety of initiatives, low elements, and high elements that encourage team work and problem solving.

Paddling at Charleston Sup Safaris, 83 Center St., Folly Beach

The lifeguard-certified expert guides help you with boards, paddles, and a ground school session before getting on the water for team fun.

Nailed It DIY Studio, Mount Pleasant and Summerville

This is an opportunity to hand-build decor and connect with your team to learn new skills.

Charleston Adventure Forest, 1152 State Rd. S-10-98, Awendaw

Find an adventurous way for team members to connect, strengthen relationships, and increase morale with the only zip-line tour in the Charleston area.

The Epic Game Show Experience, 966 Houston Northcutt Blvd., Mount Pleasant

Coworkers can face off in an epic game show experience against an opposing team. There are various challenges and mini-games to see which team will come out the champions.
