Prepare for the upcoming 2023 City of Charleston Municipal Election

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and we want to make sure you’re prepared to make your voice heard. Keep reading to check out our mini toolkit to make sure you know how + when to vote.
First things first, are you registered? If you don’t remember your registration status or want to make sure, use this site to confirm.
If you are registered, great. If not, no worries. You just need to be registered 30 days before Election Day. There are a few ways to get this completed:
Next, let’s familiarize ourselves with the candidates. Charleston County has elections for Mayor, Commissioner of Public Works, and City Council roles in Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. You can see the complete list of the candidates.
Before Election Day arrives, find out your correct precinct and voting location. In Charleston County, precincts are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Don’t forget: there’s an option for absentee voting. You can check out the requirements + directions for Charleston County.
