We’re not the only ones mourning those 8:30 p.m. summer sunsets, right? With daylight saving time over, we’re finding it harder and harder to spend our evenings out on the town when it starts getting dark around 5 p.m. We are biologically programmed to get sleepy when it’s dark, after all.

But if you’re feeling less than excited for the early sunsets + still want to spend time exploring all that The Holy City has to offer, we’ve rounded up 11 businesses that offer fun indoor activities that can be enjoyed even after the sun has set. Check out our list.

Local must-dos

The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre, 164 Church St.

Visit this local biz for a comic mystery show. Bonus: Audience members are invited to be part of the show.

Candlefish, 270 King St.

Take a candle-making class and concoct your own scent using Candlefish’s fragrance library featuring 100 different scents.

Escape rooms

Escape in 60, 45 Market St.

Work together with your team to escape in under an hour. Escape in 60 has six different adventure escapes to choose from.

Time Traveler Escape Games, 579-B King St.

These history-themed escape rooms feature little-known legends from Charleston’s past. Bonus: Time Traveler has a lounge area where you order your favorite beverage to enjoy while playing.

Places to get active

Coastal Climbing, 708 King St.

Put your strength to the test at this local climbing gym. Pro Tip: Fill out a waiver before your first visit.

Summit Adventure Park, 1964 Ashley River Rd.

Bring out the entire family to enjoy an evening on Summit’s trampolines while enjoying activities with dodgeball, a ninja course, soccer, an interactive light wall, and more.
