Batter up CHS — college baseball is in full swing and we’re giving you a snapshot of the College of Charleston Cougars’ season.

Some quick facts:
  • The 2024 roster is stacked with 41 student-athletes.
  • Head coach Chad Holbrook, is in his seventh season.
  • The Cougars play in the Coastal Athletic Association.
  • The Cougars have played four games and are on a winning streak.
  • The Cougars play home games at the The Ballpark at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.

Can I catch a game this weekend?

The team is hosting Youngstown State for a three game series this weekend on Friday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. General admission tickets are $8. Pro tip: The clear bag policy is enforced. See the rest of the schedule.

  • Darius Rucker’s Riverfront Revival music festival will return for year three at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park on Friday, Oct. 11 + Saturday, Oct. 12. Festival goers can enjoy a mix of country, Americana, and rock music, plus local vendors. Pre-sale code tickets are available now.

Verde will host a weeklong promotion and host a grand opening celebration

After opening three new locations over the past month, local restaurant Verde has a lot to celebrate. The salad eatery will host Paint The Town Green, a weeklong promotion at all of its Charleston-area locations beginning next week.

The week will end with its Grand Opening Eat + Greet, happening on Saturday, March 2, from 12-2 p.m., at one of its newest locations in Park Circle. This event will feature local vendors, kids activities, and giveaways.

Starting Monday, Feb. 26, through Saturday, March 2, guests that visit three of the eight Lowcountry locations will win a free salad for their next visit + be entered to win free Verde for an entire year.
