Joint Base Charleston shared that multiple agencies will take part in a two-day exercise by the Don Holt Bridge, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, June 13. The exercise will be a simulated oil spill scenario, and the purpose is to test + evaluate communications between the different agencies. (WCBD)

For the fifth consecutive year, CofC’s Board of Trustees approved a plan to freeze tuition for in-state students for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. The board approved a 3.95% tuition increase for out-of-state students. A new program, a two-tiered system, will determine graduate students’ tuition. (WCBD)

Dale Morris, Chief Resilience Officer, for the Office of Resilience and Sustainability for the City of Charleston, is stepping down from his role. Morris served for almost three years. The city will be announcing updates on the position and other environmental initiatives, including flooding, at a later date.

This year’s Charleston Literary Festival, which takes place Nov. 1-Nov. 10 at Dock Street Theatre, revealed the first 14 of the 35+ acclaimed authors who will be part of the festival. Authors involved include Pulitzer Prize, Booker Prize, and National Book Award nominees and winners.
