Can you believe it? The Fourth of July is next week, and we’re here to help you plan. Here is where to watch fireworks to celebrate America’s birthday.

Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration Moncks Corner | Saturday, June 29 | 6-10 p.m. | Regional Recreation Complex, 418 E. Main St. | Free | In addition to fireworks, this celebration will have a live band and DJ, food trucks and vendors, face painters, and balloon artists.

July 4 At Patriots Point | Thursday, July 4 | 5-10 p.m. | Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, 40 Patriots Point Rd., Mount Pleasant | $95 | Have the best seat in the Lowcountry for fireworks and celebrating the red, white, and blue. You’ll enjoy music, food trucks, and a fireworks show over Charleston Harbor.

Charleston RiverDogs vs Myrtle Beach Pelicans | Thursday, July 4 | 6:35 p.m. | Joe Riley Ball Park, 360 Fishburne St. | $8+ | Celebrate Independence Day with a night out watching America’s favorite pastime.   • The Town of Mount Pleasant announced a delay in the public day dock renovation near the Shem Creek Boardwalk. The project, originally planned to begin in July, is now set to start after Labor Day. The project includes replacing the floating dock + other repairs. (WCBD)

  • Now through Monday, July 1, Charleston County Mosquito Control will be conducting aerial + ground mosquito treatments between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. See the daily schedule. (WCIV)

  • This summer, The Daily at 652 B. King St., is offering free smoothies every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to closing time, but with a catch. Guests must check in using their loyalty app. See the details.

  • Portuguese Man o’ War sightings have been reported on Lowcountry beaches. The stings from the jellyfish lookalikes aren’t deadly, however, they can cause extreme pain + welts on the skin. Beachgoers should stay aware and avoid touching. (WCSC)

City Editor Erika here. With the temps rising this week, you can mentally cool off by reading about some Christmas in July opportunities coming to the Holy City next month.

Hotel Bennett

Every Wednesday in July, Camellias at Hotel Bennett will host Tea with Santa.

Guests can join Ole Saint Nick while he’s on his summer break and enjoy festive activities like pineapple decorating and holiday-themed treats. Admission for adults is $95 and $65 for children under 12.

The Restoration Hotel

The hotel is hosting a giveaway running now through Wednesday, July 10. You can nominate a local family to win a two-night stay in Santa’s suite with a giant Christmas tree, presents, and dinner at the Watch Rooftop.

And the festivities continue. Beginning Saturday, July 20, through July 28, The Library in this hotel will have a mailbox for early letters for Santa and Christmas music.
