Hamrick’s is back. The department store returned to North Charleston, celebrating its grand opening after closing 12 years ago. The store offers a wide selection, including women’s, children’s, and men’s apparel, a home section, and a shoe department. Fun fact: Hamrick’s is a family-owned business based in Gaffney, SC. (WCBD)

Legami, a new restaurant that will serve Italian cuisine, is set to open soon on King Street. The chef from Rome will lead the culinary offerings at the former 492 restaurant location. Follow along on Instagram for updates on the opening this fall. (Eater Carolinas)

New York takes on the Holy City. The New York Knicks are in town and are preparing for the upcoming season at The Citadel’s McAlister Field House. The players are enjoying the warmer Southern weather and are here until tomorrow, Oct. 5. (The Post and Courier)

The Charleston Police Department will host its annual Halloween Howl on Thursday, Oct. 24. From 5 to 8 p.m., there will be live music, food, and prizes. Bonus: Attendees can also help the department choose a winner for their Halloween car competition. (WCBD)
