  • $195 million. That’s how much federal funding will be contributed to the Long Pointe Road Interchange project. These details were announced during the SC Port Authority’s State of the Port Address. The economic impact of the ports is up 37% since June 2023, which is a total $87 billion contribution to the state’s economy. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

  • Soon, you’ll have more parking options at Charleston International Airport. Last week, folks at CHS celebrated the groundbreaking of a new six-level parking garage, which will feature 5,164 spaces for private vehicles and 2,036 spaces for rental cars. The new parking garage is expected to open in the fall of 2027.

  • Get away from it all, literally. This five-bedroom, five-bathroom, 4,560 sqft home sits on Dewees Island — a private island accessible by private ferry. The home is listed for $3,499,000 + features an expansive wrap-around porch + dock.

  • The Gibbes Museum of Art announced Demond Melancon as the winner of the 1858 Prize for Contemporary Southern Art. Established in 2007, the award honors a living artist whose work contributes to a new understanding of the arts in the South. Finalists were determined by a panel of arts professionals, curators, artists, and previous prize winners.
