Parents, this one’s for you. While cooking can be fun, you deserve a break once in a while from meal prepping and plating up endless snacks for the kids. Cue these family-friendly local restaurants — tried and true with Charleston kiddos.

Edmund’s Oast

Both the taproom’s and restaurant’s patios are perfect for al fresco dining, and the kids’ menu offers options like a burger with tater tots, a hot dog, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and cheese or pepperoni pizza. For the parents, the tap list is glorious.

Rancho Lewis

This Tex-Mex restaurant on upper King Street boasts a Los Niños menu featuring kid favorites like a bean + cheese burrito, quesadilla, mini corn dogs, and chicken tendies. If that plate is clean and you’re feeling bold, treat the kids to the Cowpoke Sundae for dessert.

Belle Station

The kids will love the outdoor play area at this Mt. Pleasant restaurant, and you’ll get some time to relax. Pro tip: On Mondays, kids eat free.

$12,000. That’s how much Kickin’ Chicken raised for Camp Happy Days — a nonprofit that supports families battling pediatric cancer — this past holiday season.

With the support of the community’s generous donations, five families received gifts through Camp Happy Days’ holiday giving program. These gifts brought joy and created unforgettable memories for kids fighting cancer.

It’s almost the end of another month, and of course, we spent February exploring the Holy City. Here’s a list of what we did — and how you can do it, too.

Dine at Legami | We had dinner at one of Charleston’s newest Italian spots on Upper King. Pro tip: Try the espresso martini.

Check out the Bal Harbour Shops Pop-Up | Now in Mount Pleasant, Callie visited this pop-up featuring several luxury brands and The Whitman restaurant. Pro tip: You have until April 4 before it’s gone.

Visit the new Estelle Colored Glass store | Located at The Charleston Place, Erika explored this Charleston-based luxury brand which specializes in stunning, heirloom-quality colored glass.

Lunch at Melvin’s | Sometimes, you can’t forget the classics. We stopped by the Mount Pleasant location for a hearty BBQ lunch and, of course, couldn’t leave without some banana pudding.

The Buy

An at-home golf simulator. Get back in the game before golf season starts with $100 off a Phigolf Home Golf Game Simulator, which comes with a sensor that can fit into your own clubs and 38,000+ GPS-mapped golf courses to play. Fun fact: It was successfully funded on Kickstarter.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Erika

smore oyster_CHStoday
Earlier this month, I asked if you’d try Fleet Landing’s secret menu item: the s’mores dessert oyster.

I was on the fence about it myself, but I gave this unique treat a shot — and guess what? It was surprisingly good. The first bite takes your taste buds on a wild adventure — savory at first, then sweet, with an unexpected smoky finish. You’ve got to try it for yourself.

Check out the result below. ⬇️

Answered
