Get ready for a weekend of nonstop beats. High Tide Festival is taking over North Charleston’s Riverfront Park this Friday, June 6 + Saturday, June 7, bringing some of the biggest names in dance and house music. This year’s headliners include Chris Lake and Disclosure, and other performances by Angrybaby, Łaszewo, Maddi Reese, and many more.

Open

Mount Pleasant is celebrating the third phase of its Memorial Waterfront Park with a Summer Kickoff this Wednesday, June 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. Enjoy the new splash pad, dog parks, basketball and pickleball courts, and more family fun.

Outdoors

Water you waiting for? Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner also has a new splash pad, featuring a tipping bucket, spray cannon, picnic shelter, and restrooms. Access is included with park admission.

Sports

The Stingrays announced that head coach and director of operations Jared Nightingale has accepted the head coaching job with the Rockford IceHogs in Illinois. In his lone season, Nightingale led the team to a record-breaking year. The search for his replacement is now underway. (WCIV)

Three local entities are teaming up to provide free meals and snacks to kids ages 5–18 at nine Charleston County Public Library branches, starting today, June 2, through Friday, Aug. 8. There are no eligibility requirements and meals meet federal nutrition guidelines. (WCBD)
