Here are a few picks from across the state for the 2025 lineup:

Charleston | Slightly North of Broad

This East Bay Street spot is offering a three-course dinner for $60. Crispy pork belly, roasted duck breast, and bread pudding, oh my — good luck choosing your three starters, because this menu is loaded. We’re leaning toward the shrimp and grits. Reserve a table.

Note: Several restaurants still haven’t dropped their menus yet, so bookmark the full lineup and keep checking back for new additions.

News Notes

Closing

Rusty Bull Brewing Co. has closed its downtown taproom, but the North Charleston location will remain open. This closure follows the company’s acquisition of Bluffton-based brewery Southern Barrel Brewing Co. The deal is expected to increase Rusty Bull’s production capacity. (Holy City Sinner)

Opening

A new hair salon will soon call King Street home. Moxie Charleston will be open seven days a week and located on the second floor of 487 King St., next to Sewing Down South. It welcomes walk-ins and offers blowouts, haircuts, hair color, and makeup. Take a peek inside.

Weather

Take a look at some of the flooding that took place in downtown Charleston yesterday. With more rain on the way, be sure to stay up-to-date on road closures + drive safely.

Traffic

As Lowcountry students head back to school, more buses will be on the roads. Since it’s probably been a while since you’ve seen the flashing stop sign fold out, here’s a quick refresh on school bus rules + safety. (WCIV)

Travel

The Charleston International Airport is making changes to the TSA security screening process for families. It’s looking to add dedicated family lanes to help alleviate stress when traveling with little ones. The initiative is currently in place at the Orlando International and Charlotte-Douglas International Airports. (WCIV)

History

Speaking of the airport — it was founded on Aug. 10, 1929, and was privately owned before the city purchased part of the property in 1931. It served as a military base in WWII and the Korean War. A joint use agreement was signed in 1973, and the Charleston County Aviation Airport Authority assumed control in 1979. (WCSC)

Drink

This Saturday, Aug. 16, at 12 p.m., Costa will host Shaken & Stirred, a summer cocktail class led by its head bartender. Guests will craft two signature drinks using seasonal ingredients, enjoy an immersive behind-the-bar experience, and sip alongside light bites and lunch. Tickets are $115 — reserve your spot.
