ICYMI: Roper St. Francis Healthcare plans to build a new medical campus in North Charleston, a $1 billion project that will be one of the largest healthcare construction projects on the East Coast.

The 27-acre campus will be located at the site of the former city hall near I-26 and 526 and be easily accessible for patients living in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

The medical campus is expected to include a full-service acute care hospital with a 24-hour emergency room and a medical office building offering outpatient + specialty care.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare hired E4H Architecture and SOM interdisciplinary firm to design the campus.

Construction may take up to five years. Learn more about the project .
