They say that in the summer, the only thing separating Charleston from hell is a screen door. We have the antidote: All three Charleston County water parks will open for Memorial Day weekend + begin regular hours of operation soon after. These splashy attractions offer activities for all ages and you’re pretty much guaranteed to cool off a few degrees.

🌊 Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark
Location: Wannamaker County Park, 8888 University Blvd., North Charleston
Highlights: The Washout slides, The Big Kahuna wave pool, The Rollin’ River lazy river
Schedule: Open Memorial Day weekend + daily operations begin June 4
Admission: $23.99 general admission, $18.99 per person under 48”, $13.99 for ages 60+, free for ages two and under.

🌊 Splash Island Waterpark
Location: Palmetto Islands County Park, 444 Needlerush Pkwy., Mt. Pleasant
Highlights: 200-foot body flume, otter slide, raindrop waterfalls
Schedule: Open Memorial Day weekend + Wednesday-Saturday starting June 8
Admission: $7.99 general admission, $6.99 per person under 48”, $4.99 for ages 60+, free for ages two and under.

🌊 Splash Zone Waterpark
Location: James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Dr.
Highlights: 200-foot tube slide, 200-foot open slide, rainforest play structure
Schedule: Open Memorial Day weekend + Wednesday-Sunday starting June 8
Admission: $11.99 general admission, $9.99 per person under 48”, $6.99 for ages 60+, free for ages two and under.

Pro tip: Go after 3:00 p.m. on weekdays to snag cheaper tickets for each park.
