This new tournament is a fun twist to keeping the Lowcountry clean.

Tomorrow kicks off Charleston Water Keeper’s inaugural Rally For Clean Water Trash Tournament. Think: fishing tournament but for trash. The event runs from Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19.

The weekend celebrates all of Charleston’s waterways (oceans, harbor, creeks, and rivers). There will be lots of live music, food, several clean-ups, a competition, crabbing, fishing, boating, swimming, and hands-on educational experiences. 100% of the proceeds will go towards efforts aiming to protect and restore the waterways.

The closing awards ceremony will be held in The Porter Room at Holy City Brewing (1021 Aragon Ave., North Charleston). What’s a tournament without prizes? There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner and a prize for the “weirdest find.”

Check out the tournament rules + sign up to participate, but hurry some events are already sold out.
