Free internet access at public parks in Charleston, SC

Free Wi-Fi access has been granted to 6 more public parks in the Holy City — thanks to the partnership between Google + the Charleston Digital Corridor Foundation .

The public parks that now have free internet access include Colonial Lake , Corrine Jones Park , Harmon Field , Hampton Park , Mitchell Playground + Magnolia Park and Garden .

Google’s support for Wi-Fi in public gathering places began in 2012 with the installation of internet access at Marion Square downtown.

Since 2009, Google has gifted $2 million+ to non-profit organizations and schools in SC. The company has also donated more than $450,000 for free Wi-Fi networks in Goose Creek, Moncks Corner ballfield, downtown Summerville, Cypress Gardens, Waterfront Park, and White Point Garden.
