What in the world is a GIS mapping system and how is it helpful? The city’s Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is an online collection of interactive maps + applications created to help citizens view city maps, road closures, flood zones, and more.

What are the most popular applications?

  • Mapnet - an interactive map searchable by a specific address or by zooming into a location
  • Zoning Map - layout of districts throughout the city
  • Road Closures - a look at current traffic impacts
  • Flood Maps - FEMA preliminary and current flood zones

The website also provides options to check local tides and road conditions + sea levels . There’s even a map of public restrooms around the city.

The county also offers GIS services. The list includes recycling pick-up routes , mosquito spray zones , and transportation projects .
