Get ready for over 50,000 pounds of oysters. The 40th annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival is right around the corner, so we’re giving you the lowdown on the world’s largest oyster fest.

The details

The “rain or shine” event — hosted by the Charleston Restaurant Foundation — will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Boone Hall Plantation, located at 1235 Long Point Rd. in Mt. Pleasant. Good news — general parking will be free.

What to expect

There will be buckets of oysters, live music on the main stage, raw oyster shucking + eating contests, wine and beer, and a food court featuring local eateries. There’s even a children’s area planned to keep your little ones entertained while you shuck oysters to your heart’s content.

Radio Bomb, members of the Blue Dogs, Uncle Mingo, and the East Coast Party Band will headline the event after Solid Country Gold takes the stage.

Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase at the festival, in addition to oyster knives + gloves. Pro tip: Pets, coolers, and outside food and beverages are not permitted.

VIP tickets have sold out, but general admission tickets are still available. Snag yours for $25.
