Mt. Pleasant has launched a 1-year, $9.6 million flood improvement plan for the Old Village area to reduce the effects of flooding on homes.

The Royall Avenue Basin Drainage Improvement Project began last week following a drainage evaluation period of multiple years. The project includes the installation of 177 new drainage outlets and 13,000+ feet of new pipes + increasing the size of existing pipes.

The majority of work will be done within the road right-of-way. On-street parking, landscaping, irrigation, and dog fences within the right-of-way will be removed during construction and will not be replaced. Some trees will be removed.

Navigate an interactive map of the project area, including tree removal locations, road closures, and water outage dates.
