We hope you’re not two tired to read this. A new bike share company called Lime is headed for the Holy City.

According to Charleston’s Committee on Traffic and Transportation, the process of finding a new program began in August 2021. Out of several bids, the committee chose international bike + scooter share operator Lime to take the reins from Holy Spokes — the current bike share vendor in town.

Lime is in 100 cities across the globe, with locations everywhere from Greensboro, NC, to Paris, France. Charleston will be the company’s first location in SC, and the company is now looking for places around town to launch the program.

The company’s mission is to make cities greener and more livable for community members. This could be a great way to stick to your New Year’s resolution, too.

The new program will be moving forward next month, which is when Holy Spokes’ contract expires. Who else is wheelie excited right now? (WCSC)
