The development’s first tenant has been announced: Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Plans include a two-story, 40,000-sqft medical office building offering outpatient services.

The healthcare system aims to care for more patients + better serve future generations. Construction on the medical office will begin within the next year and services are expected to be offered in 2025.
The project’s lead developer, Milton Thomas at Lee & Associates, says Sawmill will help address the local demand for transit connections, proximity to jobs, and access to public services.

$2.4 million. That’s the amount granted to the Medical University of South Carolina + the College of Charleston from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. Minero Mexican Grill & Cantina is now open for weekday lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with new dishes on the menu. Bilda Bike, a custom bike business, announced a second retail location and inventory warehouse in North Charleston. It will be located in Park Circle and span about 3,000 sqft. The business plans to open the space in 2023 at 4263 Spruill Ave.

Tickets are now on sale for the Alliance for Full Acceptance’s annual gala on Fri., Nov. 4. This Studio 54-themed fundraising event + dance party will take place at Union Station and raise money for the nonprofit, which promotes equality for members of the LGBTQ+ community. 🪩
