Having our newsletter be a part of your morning routine excites us.
Nothing gets us more fired up than delivering the most relevant news about our city. It’s important to us to fill the newsletter with information you truly care about. It’s our job to encourage you to explore other local zip codes, experience new things to do, and learn about the community around you.
This is a special time for us. It’s the one time a year when we ask you what topics and events you are most interested in, as a way to ensure we deliver the best content to you first thing every morning. In order to do that, we need to hear from you.
Let us know what you look forward to and what you want to see more of in the newsletter by taking our brief survey.
Here are the types of questions you can expect:
What topics are you most interested in reading about? Family fun or city history? Real estate or restaurant news?
What’s your favorite part of the newsletter?
Do you love or hate our new format?
Everything you share with us helps our team deliver the most relevant information about our city.
Now, let’s get to the money…
To show our appreciation for your feedback, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win $500 cash. Sound like a deal?

Charleston, city of love… bugs
Isn’t it romantic? | Photo via Judy Gallagher on Flickr
What are all these black bugs with red heads flying around and cluttering our cars? They’re lovebugs and we’re in the midst of one of their semi-annual flights.
April-May is lovebug mating season. During this time, lovebugs attach to each other facing opposite directions and remain attached for as long as 12 hours until the mating ritual is complete. The male detaches and dies while the female lays the eggs in moist, damp areas. It’s not dinner for two at Frannie & The Fox, but if it works for them…
Lovebugs are lovers, not fighters, so they don’t bite and are totally harmless… but be sure to clean them off your car on the way to RiverDogs games or they could damage your paint.
