Bite into Rudy Royale’s summer menu
Dessert, please. | Photo by: CHStoday team
This summer, the culinary team at Rudy Royale rolled out a new menu inspired by in-season, local + sustainable ingredients. Recently, the CHStoday team dined in to get a taste of what the southern eatery at 209 E. Bay St. had to offer. Here’s what we tried.
We started our tasting with some summer cocktails + mocktails. The restaurant offers a range of fun drinks for everyone to enjoy like the Driving Miss Daisy or the Honeysuckle Lavender Martini.
Next came the appetizers — Rudy Royale has fresh options, including fried oysters with corn chowder, country ham, and parmesan and a dish of South Carolina peaches with candied pecans, whipped goat cheese, and watercress.
Then, it was time to try some entrees. We’re still drooling over the sauteed pesto shrimp. Other menu items include salmon, steak, and a potato gnocchi dish.
Don’t worry — We also tried its famous fried chicken and topped off our meal with a top-to-bottom handmade strawberry shortcake.
Next week on Thursday, Aug. 31, Tie Dye Night is back at Mex 1 Park West from 4-7 p.m. There will be a limited amount of shirts, so get there early to get your spot.
