There’s so much to love about Charleston, and the water is one of them. So... let’s do more on the ol’ salty brine.What about heading to dinner via boat? Especially when the weather is nice, the sun doesn’t set until ~8:30 p.m., and you get to escape the bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-26 (major bonus).

Shem Creek
We know the restaurants on Shem Creek are no secret.... so we’ll keep this section brief. The creek is lined with docks where you can tie up.
Isle of Palms
Islander 71 | This spot serves southern seafood and cocktails + there is free boat docking while you dine.
The Outpost | Right next door is a gem tucked in the Isle of Palms Marina; it’s open for breakfast + lunch. Try this: “the goat” breakfast bowl.
Charleston
California Dreaming | You can enjoy panoramic views at this Holy City spot that is easily accessible by boat. It sits on the edge of West Ashley + the Ashley River.
Charleston Crab House, Wappoo Creek | First come, first docked. This popular James Island location has stunning views of Wappoo Creek.
Bowens Island
Bowen’s Island Restaurant | This spot on the Folly River has a dock to park your boat + is the epitome of Lowcountry. It’s rustic, and did we mention it’s a James Beard Award winner?

The Select, a new downtown restaurant, is set to open this Friday, July 5. The spot will offer American cuisine that highlights classic Lowcountry flavors. The Select will only open for dinner, but plans to open for brunch are coming soon. Make a reservation + try it for yourself.
Concert
“Show me the way,” to Peter Frampton tickets. The Grammy Award winner will bring his “The Positively Thankful Tour” to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Sept. 8. Tickets are on sale now. (Holy City Sinner)
Environment
Dominion Energy worked with Sullivan’s Island leaders and SCDOT to keep 269 trees that were originally set to be cut down. This fall, nine historical palmetto trees will also be relocated to Fort Moultrie. The power company announced a project earlier this year that originally planned to remove more than 500 palmettos. ONE, a Japanese container transportation + shipping company, is launching a direct connection with SC Ports and India. This connection will provide US consumers with a direct link to electronics, clothing, and retail goods from India. This new service marks the port’s fifth weekly service to the country. (WCSC)

The Gibbes Museum is heading up a membership initiative that focuses on community connections + promotes art, history, and science. Here’s how it works — each month, museum members will receive discounted memberships to local organizations + in return, members of those organizations will get discounted memberships to the Gibbes.
