Did you know pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the US? For those of you unfamiliar with the sport, pickleball shares similarities with tennis, table tennis, and badminton (as well as other paddle ball sports).

Volunteers address critical community challenges with opportunities that match their interests, skills, and schedules — from grocery shopping with a neighbor to organizing a community garden to mentoring local youth.
Chasing Sage, a farm-to-table restaurant in downtown Charleston, is closing its doors. Co-owner Cindy Edward shared that the decision was made to focus on family. An official closing date hasn’t been announced yet. In the meantime, enjoy menu items like crispy spring onion dumplings or smoked fish falafel. (The Post and Courier)

The SC Aquarium announced its Good Catch Dinner, a culinary experience hosted by Chef Graham Calabria of Calabria’s Fine Food, which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Union Station. This event will celebrate local seafood through a multi-course wood-fired meal. Tickets are $125.

Mess Hall Truck Shop, a Savannah-based interactive trucker hat-making experience, will open in Charleston. To give us a preview, the shop will host a pop-up at A Maker’s Post on Sullivan’s Island on Friday, Aug. 30, and Friday, Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can choose from 100 patches and 10 styles to design their own trucker hat.
