Get ready to lace up. The list of races taking place in the Charleston area through May is packed with runs and walks for all ages and skill levels. Many of these events support local causes, so keep reading to find one that inspires you to prepare for your next race.

Save the Light 5K + 10K | Saturday, Feb. 8 | Folly Beach | Join this annual race to help preserve the Morris Island Lighthouse. Choose between a 5K or a 10K route along the scenic beachfront.

Blizzard Bash 5K | Saturday, Feb. 8 | Charleston | A frosty-themed fun run featuring a 5K course and post-race festivities — all ages are welcome.

Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk & Wellness Expo | Saturday, Feb. 8 | Charleston | Participate in a 5K run or walk while exploring a health-focused expo with resources for the whole family.

Cupid’s Chase 5K | Saturday, Feb. 8 | Charleston | Celebrate Valentine’s Day by running for a cause. This nationwide 5K raises funds to support individuals with disabilities.

Puppy Love 5K Run/Walk | Saturday, Feb. 8 | Mount Pleasant | A pet-friendly race benefiting local animal shelters. Bring your furry friend to participate in the fun.

Where the Wild Things Run 5K | Saturday, March 1 | Ravenel | Run through a scenic natural setting and support local wildlife conservation efforts.

Catch the Leprechaun 5K | Saturday, March 15 | Mount Pleasant | Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this festive 5K. Dress up in green and race to catch the leprechaun for fun and prizes.

Run for Water 6K | Saturday, March 22 | Folly Beach | Participate in this global initiative to bring clean water to communities in need. The 6K represents the average distance many people walk to access water daily.

Cooper River Bridge Run 10K | Saturday, April 5 | Charleston | One of the Southeast’s largest races — This 10K features a stunning route across the iconic Ravenel Bridge.

GOAT 5K | Saturday, May 3 | Johns Island | Run alongside the “Greatest of all time” in this fun and competitive 5K. Enjoy the post-race celebration with music, food, and awards.

Moms’ Run 5K | Saturday, May 10 | Charleston | Celebrate moms while running this 5K that supports postpartum wellness and mental health programs.

Charleston RiverDogs: Run Charlie Run 5K | Sunday, May 18 | Charleston | Race through the streets of Downtown Charleston and finish at Riley Park, home of the Charleston RiverDogs.
