Earlier in the year, the MICHELIN Guide introduced a new distinction — the MICHELIN Key — and this month, seven Charleston hotels were honored with this recognition.
The MICHELIN Key recognizes hotels for outstanding stays and the selection team has five universal criteria when choosing:
Excellence in architecture + interior design
Quality and consistency of service
Overall personality and character
Value for the price
Significant contribution to the neighborhood or setting
The levels of a MICHELIN-rated hotel:
One Key: a very special stay
Two Keys: an exceptional stay
Three Keys: an extraordinary stay
