After breaking ground in July 2023, the South Carolina Aquarium recently celebrated the ceremonial opening of the waterfront Boeing Learning Lab at the Charleston Maritime Center. This marks the latest initiative by the aquarium to expand educational programming for students across the state.
Spanning 8,500 sqft, the Boeing Learning Lab is located along the Charleston Harbor waterfront, just a short walk from the aquarium. The lab includes four indoor classrooms, one open-air classroom, a broadcast studio for virtual programming, and office space for some aquarium staff.
The Boeing Learning Lab will support the aquarium’s current educational programs, as well as also serving as a launchpad for new offerings designed to better serve students across the state in the future. Programming is set to begin this spring.
