Last week, news broke that the Michelin Guide has expanded to the south. With South Carolina chefs and restaurants now eligible for this prestigious honor, we had a little fun asking, if it were up to you, which local restaurant would you select for the Michelin Guide American South? We received so many great submissions — take a look at some of them:
Honeysuckle Rose | Fine dining shines here with five- and eight-course prix fixe menus, thoughtfully paired with wine.
Marbled & Fin | A locally-owned modern steakhouse offering meticulously crafted dishes and drinks.
Bintu Atelier | This vibrant eatery celebrates the bold flavors of Africa.
Chez Nous | A cozy spot offering elevated food and wine from France and across Europe.
Wild Olive | Known for its Italian cusine, this Johns Island favorite draws loyal locals and visitors alike.
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if any Lowcountry restaurants make the cut. Michelin announced that the 2025 restaurant selections will be revealed later.

Here’s another festival happening this weekend: the World Grits Festival, just about an hour up the road in St. George. Now in its 40th year, this three-day event celebrates a Southern staple that’s near and dear to our hearts — grits. Expect a carnival, food, arts and crafts, activities, an eating contest, and plenty more.
