Happy Peach Week, Charleston. For the next five days, across 6AM City’s SC markets — hey, COLAtoday, GVLtoday, and even CLTtoday (for the Fort Mill and Rock Hill readers) — we’re celebrating the sweet, juicy, fuzzy-skinned fruit.
Here’s what you can look forward to: We’ll dig into the peach industry and meet some of the farmers and scientists who keep things growing, take a look back at how peaches landed in the Palmetto State, and share some peach recipes from our favorite spots around town. So, stay tuned
We can’t wait to get started, so we’ll go ahead and share this fun fact: While Georgia is known as “The Peach State,” South Carolina is called “The Tastier Peach State” because we produce more peaches annually than Georgia. How about them apples... I mean peaches.
