Opening

It’s time to uncork and unwind. Charlotte’s Wine Bar, a new wine and tapas bar, is set to offer the Lowcountry an elevated wine experience. The new spot will be nestled in the Shops of Mount Pleasant. Stay tuned for an opening date. (The Post and Courier)

Next Saturday, Aug. 9, Buxton Books and The Club at Wild Dunes are teaming for “The Girl Who Built a Spider” Pool Party — a literary event for young readers and their families. Tickets include a copy of the book, a signing with author George Brewington, pool games, a bounce house, and themed snacks.

Get a taste of the capital city in the Holy City — DC-based pizza joint, Timber Pizza Co., has opened on Meeting Street. We’re eyeing the Margherita. Stop by Monday through Thursday, from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Eater Carolinas)

Sorghum & Salt, a restaurant known for its farm-to-table menu, moved to a larger space on Philip Street last month. The new space has almost doubled its size with 60 seats + a 12-seat bar. Stop by Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. (The Post and Courier)

Soon, kids will be out of the pool and back in school. To help local students start on the right foot, News 2 is holding a supply drive through Friday, Aug. 1, to benefit Lowcountry Orphan Relief. Check out what items are needed + where you can drop them off.
