Acclaimed Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood Filipino restaurant Kultura, led by James Beard-nominated Chef Nikko Cagalanan, is growing — and not just in popularity. The petite 760-sqft Spring Street location is expanding to a larger space just a few blocks away at 267 Rutledge Ave.
The restaurant also recently celebrated its second anniversary.

“Kultura is more than a restaurant to me — it’s a way to share my culture, my story, and the warmth of Filipino hospitality,” said Cagalanan in a press release.
Did you know the restaurant started as a pop-up? Chef Nikko first introduced his culinary vision to the Holy City through his pop-up, Mansueta’s Filipino Food. The success of that project led to the opening of Kultura in 2023.
Kultura’s beverage director, Jessica Ford, is excited to introduce a full range of spirited drinks and non-alcoholic options.

The new space will offer a larger kitchen, a larger dining room, and a full bar, which will allow the beverage director, Jessica Ford, to introduce a revamped drinks and mocktail menu.
