News Notes

Civic

On Tuesday, the Charleston City Council approved a proposal for MUSC development projects that would waive some of the city’s zoning restrictions. The move would allow 17 properties to be demolished without approval from the city’s Board of Architectural Review, increase new construction height limitations in some areas, and change some parking restrictions. (Charleston City Paper)

Development

Trident Medical Center will break ground on the first Johns Island emergency room today. This 11-room facility, located on Maybank Highway, will give ~28,000 residents access to care, and there will also be a trauma room and an in-house diagnostics lab. The project is set to be completed in 11 months. (WCBD)

Today’s edition by: Callie

🚦 If you’ve been holding out on the pumpkin and apple spice, you now have the green light. It’s officially fall, and Jeff’s Bagel Run has released its seasonal flavors.

If you stare long enough — you might just be able to smell these cozy autumn flavors through your screen. But I won’t be satisfied until I have a maple spice latte in my hands.
A cozy autumn display features iced coffees, a hot drink, fresh bagels, and creamy spreads from Jeff’s Bagel Run, surrounded by colorful fall leaves, creating a warm seasonal vibe.
