A quick stroll around Charleston at this time of year evokes the cozy holiday vibes befitting any Hallmark movie. Some filmmakers agree.

With the production company’s seemingly indefinite hold on our holiday viewing experience, it’s the perfect season to talk about a few flicks with ties to the Lowcountry:

USS Christmas

This 2020 romantic tale had several filming locations in Charleston County. You’ll recognize the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point as a reporter meets a handsome naval officer. Mystery later abounds as Christmas, romance, and intrigue intertwine.

Christmas in Conway

There won’t be a dry eye in the house for this heart-wrenching 2013 love tale. As he runs out of time with his wife, a jaded husband plans a grand romantic gesture — to build a Ferris wheel in their backyard. But the neighbors aren’t the kindest folks in town.

The Beach House

While it isn’t necessarily a holiday movie, beachy Lowcountry vibes are comforting any time of year. It’s a story of old friends, family connection, and self-discovery.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Patrick

A golden retriever lying in front of a door with a cone on his head. He is lying on a blue towel and is fast asleep.

Say hello to Arthur. | Photo by CHStoday

My sweet dog Arthur recently had surgery to remove some masses from his back and one from his head. Thankfully, everything went smoothly and testing all came positive (knock on wood).

I know y’all have some incredibly cute pets at home. Please please please send me your best pet pics and a little blurb about your animal. It would make for some excellent future content.

PS: Arthur has multiple dog beds — he just chose to lie on the towel in the corner this morning. I think he just wanted attention.
