Plans to build a new development in West Ashley with 400+ living spaces are heading back to the drawing board. Officials could not reach an approval agreement for the proposed 350 Grand Oaks Blvd. site, meaning developers need to reassess their vision. (Post and Courier)
Eat
If you’ve lived in the Lowcountry for a minute, chances are you’ve eaten oysters harvested by Barrier Island Oyster Co. But only recently did the duo behind the company open their first brick-and-mortar location. Head to John’s Island to sample the goods. (Post and Courier)
Environment
Speaking of John’s Island, officials just approved plans for the proposed 44-acre park at Angel Oak Preserve. That’s a 35-acre increase from the current size, and the $13.5 million plan aims to protect the gorgeous, 400-year-old oak tree centerpiece. (Charleston City Paper)
Plan Ahead
What do Kevin James, Nikki Glaser, Katt Williams, Larry the Cable Guy, and Kathy Griffin have in common? They are all performing stand-up shows in Charleston in 2026. Thank goodness for that. We could all use a little more laughter in our lives. (WCBD)
