Have you heard of Dad Day?

Set up by Charleston’s Adam Kunes in 2024, it’s a growing group of fathers looking to connect with each other in the Holy City. “We’re trying to build the internet’s least-cringe dad corner and give guys real tools and community,” Kunes told us.

On their schedule, you’ll find run clubs, backyard hangouts, park play dates with the kiddos, a private Slack channel, and dad-centric write-ups. Outside of Charleston, Kunes has already expanded to Annapolis, Pittsburg, and Phoenix.

Brown Fox Coffee in Charleston, SC

National Coffee Break Day, a reminder to partake in one of the country’s favorite pastimes — stepping away from your desk to grab a cup of joe.

Fortunately, the Holy City has no shortage of masterful baristas, aromatic roasts, and foamy lattes. We recommend finding time today to hit up one of these spots:

Brown Fox Coffee, Mount Pleasant
Head over to the pickup window at this local caffeine fix or grab a spot on the family and furry-friendly patio.

Second State Coffee, Multiple locations
Second State’s joe is so good, it has four locations in our area to satisfy local demand for a cup or two.

Muddy Waters Coffee Bar
For years, this James Island spot has been slinging coffee, and its old-school vibes pack a nostalgic punch.

The Wrap

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that my stint writing these CHStoday newsletters is coming to an end soon. The excellent news is that Callie will be back in your inboxes every morning.

These past couple of months have been wonderful, and it has been lovely getting to know our readers better. I’ve got some time until our tearful goodbye, but I’m trying to get ahead of the curve here and I’d love to stay in touch — here’s my LinkedIn.
