Mark your calendar: next month is the JuLionfish Festival at the SC Aquarium. This event will take place on Friday, July 26, and marks the end of a months-long effort to remove invasive lionfish off the coast of SC and aims to teach the community about the species + sustainable seafood practices.

Event details

  • You have to be at least 21 years old to attend
  • Tickets (General admission tickets $65 + member tickets $60) include a lionfish filleting demo, dishes from local culinary partners, drinks, and entertainment.
  • Doors open at 7 p.m.
  • Tasting stations and bars will close at 9:45 p.m.
  • The event ends at 10 p.m.
